Phoenix

With red a-top, soft flowing plumes
Contrasting with black diamonds that cut like ice
They sparkle and light the fire carried on breath
A fierce and passionate force flows from within
Arms that encircle and warmth that capitulates
At once present but unavailable
With an open manner and a trembling resignation
Lips touch, soft and red.
White teeth flash and bite down
Pain like an awakening motivates movement
And limbs like branches burning and aching
Gasp, pulling this way and that
Hands held down
Bodies pressed together
Rhythm controlled by beating hearts
Slow at first, coaxing, long slow and controlled
Punctuated staccato and quick
Nails unseen, shock
Gripping hard imposing power
Flesh yields
Arching, sweating, breathing hard and then release
Sighing, drifting, a flow into dreamless sleep.
